ASO (App Store Optimization)

I have a number of apps that don't even appear on the Google Play store though they show up if I search on my name as the developer. They are all there but get no presence when searching by keyword. Questions: Can the Settings/Description in Andromo be used successfully for keywords or is it just internal for my use? Where can keywords be placed in creating an app if not there? How best to do ASO from within the created app?
