how do I work the gallery function... on dash board

when i choose "gallery" i don't see where to put the image in for the actual icon. Do I just make the icon image , the "image" its self? thanks

    The images on the dashboard are the activity icons, so if you want to change an icon to be more like a photo, you need to upload the photo as the icon for that activity. The max size for activity dashboard images is 256x256. (The web site can resize it down for you automatically, but you might want to crop/resize the image yourself.)
