What Android devices do you use? Do you have an Android smartphone or a tablet or both?

Let other Andromo Android App Developers know what works best? What doesn't? What could be improved? What would be the ultimate Android device?

    Interesting, what type of an Xperia do you have? I think that the Xperia play is interesting but I really don't know that much about it, in fact I don't think I've ever seen one in real life yet.

    What version of Android are you running? 2.3.6?

    Lots of really cool Android phones out there - I'm just loving the Galaxy Nexus (and this is coming from a pretty hardcore Mac/Apple/iPhone fan). To be honest, this is a game changer - Apple should be scared... Android is going to eat their lunch IMHO.

    Galaxy S II. Best phone i've ever owned. Had a HTC Magic/Sapphire before that.

    I'm pretty happy with my Nexus S -- I mostly got it because as a developer I always wanted to have the latest version of Android to play with.

    I only have three issues with the phone so far:
    • the orientation sensor can be a bit wonky, some compass apps tend to jump around a bit, although it's gotten better with recent versions of Android
    • the camera isn't very good, it tends to blow out highlights really bad, like the phone is stuck in some kind of low-light mode...anything lit by a source of bright light gets blown out like crazy.
    • sometimes the standard launcher gets really slow; a few times I've seen the entire phone slow to a crawl, to the point where it's difficult to switch between pages on the home screen. Not really an issue with the phone, it seems to be a problem with Android 2.3.x itself. Rebooting the phone (turning it off, then turning it back on) always fixes the problem.

    After seeing Colin's Galaxy Nexus, I'm looking forward to trying 4.0 on my phone...it will be really interesting to see if the camera improves at all with the new software.

    Overall I'm really happy with the phone as a phone. Google's Navigation app and the voice recognition for searches works well.

    I'm using the Swype keyboard, which I cannot live without now that I'm used to it. I find it way faster to trace a path through the keys than to hunt and peck on the little on-screen keyboard.

    I am using the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer, which I am really liking the unit. I use the docking keyboard also at times with it and makes it really nice for doing alot of keyboard of editing of html or just lots email work etc.

    Seems to work great with the program I have made here thus far.

    Yeah, the ASUS tablet seems really nice...it was the most appealing Honeycomb tablet to me when it came out. It's going to be interesting to see what the next generation of tablets running ICS are like.

    Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 - my first ever "smart" MP3, very nice, great screen; much better size for viewing internet than my wife's ipod Touch. I paired it with the logitech BT for android 3.0, works great. Andromo looks great on it.

    Hi,

    I just signed up last 12 hours, tested my 1st Android App.
    Wow! Fantastic. Works very well with my HTC Buzz (Wildfire)

    It's an awesome platform. Upgrading to Gold soon.

    I use a Samsung Galaxy SII which I have to agree with Swanbot about - best phone I've ever owned, and I've owned a lot of phones! It's running ICS, but not the stock Samsung version; a stripped-down one without all the Touchwiz crap that Samsung fills it with.

    Also use an Asus Eee Pad Transformer, which is superb. The dock just makes it so much more useful than any other tablet out there; plus the battery life is incredible. It's just had the Asus ICS firmware as well and it runs beautifully - I had considered upgrading it to the Transformer Prime but I honestly don't think I'd gain anything from doing it.

    I have a HTC Desire phone and a Samsung PT1000 tablet - tablet is great despite the fact that Samsung seem to no longer support it

    I'm using a Coolpad 8022 which I bought in China for under $60. It has a 800Mhz processor with 512MB RAM and 256MB internal storage. It's running a customised version of Android 2.3.

    I've created 2 apps and downloaded them to the phone. Both apps run basic functions fine but crash when I try to run the following: Youtube, Location, and RSS reader. The phone doesn't really have GPS support so that's why it crashes when I run a Location action. I'm not sure why it crashes when I run Youtube and RSS actions on Android 2.3. All other apps run just fine.

    I should add that I got the phone from China Mobile and while it runs WhatsApp and WeTalk it crashed when I run Skype. I can also run the Kindle Reader, Evernote, Acrobat Reader, listen to music and watch videos and so on without without problems.

    I'm confused as to why RSS would crass the App.

    When I started using Andromo, I didn't have my own Android device. I used (and am still using) Bluestacks (http://bluestacks.com/) to test my apps and also for grabbing screenshots. I think this is quite useful since I can do all the "development" and testing just on my PC. Later, after the APK is published on the Play Store I would try it out on my wife's phone which is an HTC Desire.

    Now, I'm still using Bluestacks but also test my apps on a Nexus 7 and a $50 china tablet.
