Is there a way to set an app up to run in the background and give you notifications if something changes?

    In what way do you mean? Generally, apps shouldn't interrupt anything else you are doing on your phone...

    the question is the same as what I want to ask. In my app, I need it to notify the user if I were to update a status. For example, I need to tell my users "Heads up!", and they would know instantly that I typed that either onto my Facebook Page or website. In my app that I would like to perfect, that would be the main feature. I just dont know how to do this. Kind of like texting, or a SMS message
