  • Thanks, @anteos. Well, as you say, all may apps are already on 1mobile.com :) I will look into it.
  • I contacted them giving my developer page in Gplay and asking them to assign to me all apps they listed form that developer page. I kinda like visiting the various markets and checking the statistics reports :)

I have just this minute uploaded successfully my first app.
It is now pending authorisation, but only then did I notice the link to "Upload from GP".
It would probably have been easier to upload from GP.

But hey! Let's see what happens - this could be another good marketplace for us!

EDIT: I've just noticed, the "Upload from GP" button is for screenshots and descriptions only.

How come you didn't have your apps already included? At least some of them? Yeah, they look very promising, I can't believe we've overlooked this market. :)
  • I'm wondering if 1mobile may be associated with other marketplace, if some peoples apps are already on there without having to upload them?!?
  • @anteos How did you go about that problem? I have same error msg:

    Upload failed

The package name : "net.andromo.dev257360.app239958" is already used in 1Mobile, but no one own the app. Would you like to reclaim it?If yes, please contact business@1mobile.com

  • @f1_fan

I didn't go at all - just contacted them and asked that all apps which came from my developer page in Gplay should be assigned to me. Waiting for a reply now, but also tried a few others and 2 apps went through when I tried publishing.
  • Regarding 1mobile.com.

I was asked to provide my registered 1mobile.com e-mail, developer name, and all package names of apps.
I gave a full list and they assigned those already in 1mobile.com to me. Then, they e-mailed me saying which package names were not found at all and asking me to manually upload them.
I think you should do same, one more market for us, why not?
  • Thanks for that info. I'll do it today
  • OMG if the app is already in claim it fast and change some things on layout.
They listed a small radio app of mine as adult for God's sake
And I need to update the shots since they chose bad ones  -.-
  • Maybe it's radio for adults , hehehe
  • I am uploading manually to 1mobile.com as they don't seem to have my apps already - I think it's like some other AppStores, if they have already found your apps they upload them to their AppStore to increase downloads using their link.
    Saves a lot of bother.

I have had an Email from Nexva.  Explaining that they need my apps translating to French.
They say they have a team waiting to do it for me.  Thing is, this doesn't suit my apps as they have a lot of web links that are to english speaking websites.  Oh Well, at least they're proactive!
  • I also received same e-mail. I kinda like when app markets ask me and recommend further promotion types (which do not involve paying for them)
  • Ah Man!  I just got my first Samsung App Certification FAIL Message.
One of the Radio links didn't work. "Error accessing file" although when i try it, it works.
Because it takes Samsung so long to review, i already have a newly updated app to send them.

I have 6 apps and 5 more to upload, i was hoping to have 10 consecutive apps pass, so i could use their fasttrack service - but, no longer.

It is good how they send you a video of them testing the app, very thorough.  I'd like to have that job.
(There's a job going at Mobango, for amongst other things... Testing Apps!)

  • After initial download spikes, all these small app stores do not work for me. GP and Samsung are doing all the work, and Amazon is good for sales, while other markets are more or less useless.

Does anyone here have any success with alternative app stores? If my app gets 500+ DL/day on GP or Samsungs, it gets maybe 5 on alternative stores. Is it similar for anyone else here?

Getjar spiked indeed the first days and dropped later, but still is a decent source of downloads.
Samsung dropped too, but seems recovering these days.
Opera is better than GPlay for me, though GP seems to be gaining some ground lately

I got some more which give low downloads, but I think better than nothing. So I still try and update there as well.
  • One thing about the smaller appstores is that while they are not big, they have a good size presence in areas where my downloads are lower, Appland.inc for Scandanavian area, Yandex for Russia / E.Europe etc  There seems to be a gap in some market areas where the big appstores are not as prevailant.
    Certain things i have done to improve downloads in smaller appstores;
    (1) Always reply to comments, (2) in their native language (even if i just google translate) (3) Do as much as i can in local languages (try and translate parts of my app or use simple English if i cant).

I have a Celebrity App, I added a feature called "Lingo" after many comments gave me 5 stars but said "It's only in English".  My new feature now includes websites in their own language aswell as translated websites (this owrked very well in short and long term).

So my experience has been - there's more to do in smaller appstores - you have to judge whether it is worth the time for you.  It will eventually come down to this; I have improved in these appstores OR There's not much point being in these Appstores.  But by then you can make the decision.

I have noticed that downloads increase exponentially, so at first 10/day for month, then 20/day - doesn't seem much but in terms of % it is quite encouraging - it will take a lot longer for my download numbers to scale in these small appstores, i think it is well worth sticking to as many as possible, because you'll still be around in 5 years and what will your downloads look like then?  Hopefully much better

If more phonemakers had Appstores this would be great.
  • Thanks for sharing, guys. I too thought about adding translations for Yandex and some EU countries. I have virtually no downloads on Yandex.
  • Adding translations might be a way to attract more downloads, but I REALLY hate the outcome.
When I find an app which got translated to my native tongue (Greek) the result is so funny/bizarre/utterly insane that I will never download it.
  • @anteos Try fiverr.com - You can get a lot of text translated for a fiver - I've used it and I am totally happy with what I got - It doesn't suit everyone, spending money etc  But you would have an app that pisses all over some of the other crappy translated apps.
  • @tamworthheat: I never had anyone who would compain about the translations. They always complain that the app itself is not translated, even if I say in the second sentence, that the app is in ENG only.

However, I fully agree, that if you want to have a professional appearance, quality translations are mandatory.

  • Hi guys
Have you noticed a serious increase in profit form Admob these days?
I have experienced a 40-50% jump in profit, it started at once on the 20th and is still increasing since.
I guess it's the holidays and days off work/school which make the difference.
  • Yes, I've noticed.  I'm up at least 25% on last month - Happy Holidays!  :)
  • Happy holidays too! Maybe it should be Christmas all year long haha
  • I can't report about having any extra profit increases, but it's OK anyway. :-)
  • Anyone else see a spike on amazon (for downloads and sales) since 12/23?
I used to have daily downloads between 450 and 650 (450 Mon-Fri and 650 on Sat/Sun) for like 2 month without any bigger swings. Now suddently since 12/23 I am somewhere around 1.200 to 1.600 per day.
Haven't had any big new apps and nothing related to Christmas/Holidays.
Not complaining :-) just wondering ...

  • Due to a Christmas related app, I had a serious spike in profit for the days between 22 and 27 and now it is reverting to normal. However, I experienced no downloads spike worth of noting in these days.
Could it be some of your apps were selected as developer select and were promoted for free of charge?
